A Taste of Las Vegas
by Maria Fundora
As you visit Las Vegas, if you travel East on Tropicana Avenue, you’ll see Cuba Café with its great sounds from live bands. This is definitely the place to get a little taste of Cuba without the airline ticket expense. Visited by local Cubans and other nationalities who have discovered the secret smell cooking inside, if the sounds don’t bring you in, the taste from their traditional mojitos and their steak sandwiches that are to die for will definitely do the job.
Owner Ruby Romero has been serving his visitors with a smile, a hand shake and good comfort Cuban food for the past 14 years. When asked why his restaurant is packed even on Tuesday he just smiles and shares what’s the secret recipe, “greet your customers, give them great food with great prices and they’ll be back”.
Come in and have a taste of authentic Cuban cuisine for lunch or dinner. Opened for business Sunday through Thursday from 11am-9pm and Friday/Saturday from 11am-10pm. Looking for Happy Hour, then no problem; you can enjoy it Monday-Friday from 6pm-8pm. On Tuesdays come enjoy live entertainment starting at 6pm. While you’re enjoying the sounds sit back and delight in the “2 for 1” mojitos, a true Cuban drink with a kick of fresh mint.
